10 week old Golden Wyandotte... Rooster or hen? Help!!

I had a buff orpington that I thought was a hen. My SO thought it was a rooster. When it laid an egg that settled the question. In your case just wait. You will find out soon enough.

thanks for your replies everyone! So today, the sun was shining in lovely Colorado and when I looked at Xena Warrior Princess (to give you an idea of her personality since she was a hatchling) her feathers had a bluish glow not unlike my Black Australorp. Does anyone know if this solidifies her gender?
I live in an area where roosters are not permitted. We have 4 children that have helped raised this new group and they are going to be so heart broke if we end up having to give her away. Has this happened to anyone else? I don't want Xena to go to a bad place... she/he has been cuddled and loved her whole little life and she isn't aggressive to people. I would like to give her/him to a home where he/she can live like a chicken.
Any ideas or stories of past experiences would be helpful. I have a feeling we need to prepare :-(

I had several GLWs years ago. Not a one in the group had wattles like that, and that red face is a give away. I am suspecting that Xena is a boy. Iridescence does not qualify gender. Males are often much more showy, but females are not bereft of an occasional flash of color.

Sorry.
