The saddle feathers are near the base of the tail. Below is a picture of my rooster. At the base of the tail you can see them by the wing.View attachment 2235905

He's gorgeous! His tail feathers are definitely pointy and messy... very different from all the other pullets. It's what got us worried. I appreciate you confirming it.
