Hi, I have a Baby Rooster (pullet?) And am very new to keeping a chicken. My boy is 10 weeks old. He seemed fine when I got him nearly 2 weeks ago. He is eating and drinking fine and his poop is normal. The problem is his toe on one foot. When he walks it seems to indicate of bend sometimes and he wobbles forwards. More so when he's walking on grass than a hard standing or if he doesn't pick his foot up properly.
Please help
I know very only had him for two weeks but I love my little man soo much already!

Hi there! ,

i'm so sorry to hear the difficulties your roo is facing but it will be very helpful if you click a pic of his leg and post it on your post .

as per your post as you said he had difficulties in walking and standing i think first for Marek's or some calcium def. but dont get panic maybe he get some injuries in his leg i suggest you to hold him and look at his affected leg just see if theres some injury marks or swelling if yes then treat it .

some times they injured theirself by running walking on stones or any other sharp thing . just see for injuries and take care of your roo .

Give him some hard boiled Eggs (White Portion) That's so nutri For Week , &
give him some calcium rich food & vitamins it will help him alot .

Give him fruits like :
Apple , Pomegarnet ( He'll love it) (And dont get scared if he did a blue / black poop thats cz of Pomegarnets ):lau
pears , mango , grapes thats all nutri treats plus healthy

i suggest you to give 1 drop of "Essential Vitamins & Amino Acids With DHA & Argenine "Once A Day Directly Or Mix It In His Feed. Sometimes poor diet makes this thing just tell me did your roo start Crowing in the morning??

best of luck

No not on health store but surely on a Pet Store Or Pet Feed Store .
you can ask them for essential vitamins without iron .

ohh thats's great if he love apple then he love other fruits too.

if you want him to crow now then there's a trick download a chicken roosting sound in your phone and play it near him he'll listen that sound and in day or two u'll hear your bae crowing :celebrateevery morning or couple of times :ya

i do this with my friend's roo & he start crowing in just half hour its a very useful trick

best of luck:thumbsup

Baby Rooster (pullet?)...10 weeks old....The problem is his toe on one foot. When he walks it seems to indicate of bend sometimes and he wobbles forwards

Hi @Lynda Murphy :frow Welcome To BYC

Can you post some photos of the foot?

A "baby rooster" is a Cockerel until he reaches 1yr of age, then he is a Rooster. A "pullet" is a female chicken less than 1yr old, then she becomes a Hen :)

Is the toe swollen, broken, crooked? Do you think he injured it somehow?

In addition to his normal chick starter, offer him some vitamin B2(Riboflavin). Some poultry vitamins contain B2 or you can crush a human B-Complex tab and add it to his food daily.
If the toe is curled or crooked, the vitamins may help alone - he may also need to have the foot taped depending on what it looks like.
