Satan's army is another story. :/ It's breeding season and they have almost killed one another. I"ll be glad when they decide who is going to have what girl and stop the madness. The grab a hold to the other one's wing and they run around the property like that all day long non stop, attached like Siamese Twins. They are getting on my nerves!!!

Hello! I discovered this thread a few days ago and since then have spent all my free time reading it through! Wow, you've inspired me to get me some Broilers! It's summer here in South Africa, Fall next month and I think it would be the perfect time to raise some as well for the year. About your worker dilemma: Have you heard about the site www.workaway.info? It gives people the chance to travel the world by helping out at farms/homes/whatever. You basically provide free accommodation and meals to young people from all over the world in exchange for around 5 hours free labor per day. You get to meet some people from all over the world as well. I hope I'm not infringing on anything by posting a website here

It's just a site I've been checking out to travel abroad myself, but most people want singles, not married couples so I've let the idea go a long time ago...

but are there any correctional facilities near you? Often non violent criminals can get work release programs and Farm work is the best work honestly. And you have enough of it to have a regular visit. They are escorted, watched and I'd think you'd get stronger helpers or helpers that know what they gotta do to stay in the programs...just a thought.

There is actually a facility not too far from me and I have a van show up like everyother week to clean the drainage ditch in my neighborhood and the surrounding area. Its usually the same guys but every now and then there's a new one. They deffinitely do a really good job cause they like getting out and moving around freely even if they are wearing their jumper and neon vest.

edited to add that they also do all the city landscaping, lol. I guess the city finally figured out it was cheaper than hiring a professional service... after all it doesn't take much skill to push a lawn mower or two around.
