My homemade incubator, cooler w/glass window, stays at 99-100 at all times. Should I mess w/adding a fan? I have read that 101 w/out fan, 99.5 w/fan is ideal. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm am no where near an expert, so take my thoughts lightly.

I would add a fan, just to be sure that there are no hot spots, to make sure that the temp is even throughout.

With all honasty, it wouldn't be a bad idea.

However, when we first started the whole incubation stuff, we did not have a fan.

The directions said 99.5F so that's what it was at. My chicks hatched fine, and I had
an exellent hatch rate. So don't get into a big hurry, but next hatch, I'd look into getting

one.

For still air, 101 at the top of the eggs is perfect... If you want to add a fan, go for it... I have had fairly good hatches with no fan too though...
