I am excited and overwhelmed to announce that my first attempt at hatching eggs had 100% hatch rate and so far all chicks are alive and strong. The little yellow one is our first hatchling. Went from zip to hatched in 10 minutes. She’s is a moss egger and one of my granddaughters named her Nefaari.

Thats awesome, congratulations its few and far between you get to experience that!!
I was pretty astonished. Started out asking for only 6 eggs figuring half would be roosters and I would have to rehome. Then took hatch failure into consideration and asked for 12. She gave me 18 to make sure my first experience was a good one. Lol

Congratulations!!! They are adorable. My granddaughters enjoyed watching our chicks hatch today!!

congrats,
hope you have done the chicken math. From what I gather you had a planned space for 6 and have ended up with 18 which need to be heated for the first 6 weeks and 18 hens start taking up the space of a garage by then. I'm just mentioning this because that logic has hit me at the moment. Still under control but I didn't get 3 times more than I had planned for so I don't know if it helps but better to be prepared. The amount of food 18 will eat compared to 6 is not to be underestimated also.
