100% hatch rate!!!

Well, today is officially day 21, but they started on Thursday and the last one is still in the bator drying off. I hatched 8 home growns (RIRs and possible mixes) and 12 shipped JGs. I can't believe all 12 shipped eggs took & hatched! With my last set of shipped eggs, I got nothing to show for my effort...

Anyway, the JGs are from splash parents. I'm hoping to get some blues, but I have no idea what color the babies are. They all look black to me. Would blues definitely look blue? Or would they all (black, splash, blue) just be too dark to tell at this stage?

OH, and of course, when I figure out how to post pics, I will...but my kids aren't going to let me out of our Saturday morning cartoon ritual just to go take pics right now

Black X Splash gives 100% blue.

Thanks - I guess I misunderstood the genetics. I belive both parents are splash. If that's hte case, all 12 are splash and I will try to get blues when I cross with the blacks that I will get at some point in the future!

my goodness congrats!!! what kind of incubator are you using because i need one lol. my past hatches haven't been good so i'm looking at buying or building a better one.

I have a brinsea octogon eco. I didn't do anything elaborate - set water in one well until day 18, set it at 99.7 degrees-ish, and turned it twice a day. Candled at days 8, 14 and 18. And all hatched. I love the 'bator!
