Kind of like the way Americans get rid of boney, meatless chicken wings

And what they attempted to do with Nutria in the south.... rat stew anyone?

Seriously, why are those eggs so black?

Escargot is a certain type of snail and it is cooked (key word here) in butter and garlic. It is really delicious. Now calamari on the other hand, tastes like deep fried rubber bands.

You're funny Debi,

I alway tell people that want to try escargot. Just cut a piece off your car tire and dip into garlic butter.

Imp-And I love baby squid tentacles, suckers and all.

The year I spent traveling pregnant in asia for work had me eating all sorts of local delicatsies "to give you stong boy, who loves mother". I stopped asking what it was after the third "gift"

. Eating silkies was most likely the most "normal" food I was offered.

i eat these pretty often.
they are actually really good...
love.gif

but i've never ate them by themselves before
they taste AMAZING in chinese porridge
droolin.gif

they also taste good in dishes with other strong flavors like mustard and such
once when i got too lazy to cook i've just cut one up into slices and cooked it in a frying pan and ate it with rice. that was good too although the smell might be too strong for those unused to it.

but then again..
i'm asian ...we eat everything right?

I have a saying for anything odd or weird that people offer me to eat or drink- "If you have to aquire a taste for it, its gross, and I'm not eating it" Thats why I dont drink wine, nor do I care to drink alcohol, unless its some fru-fru drink that only tastes like sugar and fruit!

Escargot, on the other hand, I took an instant liking to- anything smothered in garlic and butter and then fried, or sauteed is Mm, Mm, GOOOOOD to me!
