1000 Lumen fashlight for canceling dark eggs help

Hey there!
I bought a 1000 lumen flashlight to candle my next batch of Marans eggs I have on the way because my 250 lumen candler didn’t cut it last hatch.
Now that it’s here, I’m so confused how to use it. Does anyone else use one like this to candle eggs? I tried with a store bought egg and since it’s so much wider that the top of the egg, it’s like impossible to see the aircell because it’s just blasting light everywhere. Tips? Tricks? What am I missing.

The light should only go through the egg. You will need to block off any areas that light gets through around the egg.

Maybe you could put some black electrical tape mostly over the top except for a small opening.

That's a big flashlight, mine is a tiny 1500 lumen flashlight. You'll have to make some kind of contraption to narrow the beam of light. I've seen anything from taping a piece of cardboard with a small hole cut in the center to using PVC pipe fittings with a soft cloth wrapped around the end. Most people just use whatever they have handy.
