My incubator is constantly wanting to go to up to 102 degrees instead of 101 no matter how much I turn the thermostat down it eventually go back up. Is this safe? it never goes above 102 and whenever it gets up to 102 I take the lid off and lower the thermostat. The eggs are going on day 3. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to solve this problem?

Please help.

But I do know that when my temps hit 104* I was told that was part of the trouble w/a batch I had that had their intestines born outside & other deformities. So, I would watch it. I am not experienced enough to be of much help, but I would *think* 102 would just mean an earlier hatch...??? But, that's not really what you want...

Are you using a still air incubator or forced air? What are you using to measure your temps?

for a still air incubator that temp wouldn't cause problems, but if it is forced air it's too hot.

Does it have a wafer thermostat?
I saw a previous post about wafers which were going bad sometimes kept readjusting the temp upwards.
Turn it down.. temp goes back up...turn it down...temp goes back up...etc
