Ive always wondered why roosters sometimes attack 1 person and not another. We had 2 of them once and the main roo would go after my sister, but never come at me.

Not sure who or what you are referring to as "stupid", but thanks for the advice!x2! While he's attacking you, he's not thinking about protecting his flock from hawks or anything else. Stupid! The fighting bird people have it nailed; human aggression is separate from interbird or flock protection behavior genetically. In fact, it seem that those three behaviors are wired differently in their TINY little brains. That's why training only goes so far in modifying rooster behavior, (and their testicles are bigger than their brains, anyway). Mary
Last night when I went to put everyone up, I was confident and just walked towards him and he stepped off to the side and didn't bother me. I'll keep working in my confidence and hopefully that will solve the problem!I definitely second this post. Lots of people think that aggression "fixes" an aggressive rooster which I believe is totally wrong. You have to think in terms of pecking order and act like roosters do when they are trying to establish their dominance. Centrarchid advise is very good.
The bird is an idiot, attacking any human. MaryNot sure who or what you are referring to as "stupid", but thanks for the advice!![]()
