My 11-12 week old Ameraucana hen is walking strange. It’s been going on for at least a couple of weeks since I noticed. She was the biggest chick I had ever seen when we got her and her flock mates from the Family Farm and Home on April 14th. She still had her egg tooth like the others in the group. I think she has weak joints. When she was a chick, she stood up straight, now she does not. It’s like she doesn’t have the strength in the joints to do so. We gave them chick starter, but have switched to Hatch to Hen crumbles. I started giving them nutridrench in their water a couple of weeks ago after I noticed the way she walked and hoped extra vitamins would help. It hasn’t gotten worse, but it hasn’t gotten better. I know you can give them a straight dose in the mouth and I’ve done that a couple of times. Her weakness reminds me of meat chickens not having enough steam to go far because they grew too fast (my mom raised some Cornish rock cross chickens one year and vowed not to go with that breed again because it was pitiful). I’ve attached some pics of how she walks. I really hope she will be able to overcome this. We love her. She gets around a lot - free ranging with her “sisters.” She just has to sit down a lot.
Any helpful insite is appreciated. Also, an avian vet is out of the question. I just hope we don’t have to cull her....

Okay, I’ll try that in a little while. For what it’s worth, the last 3 pics are rapid succession pics, as are the 3 before that.

I hope the video worked right... Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction as far as Cappy and her walking?

Here’s a video taken on May 23rd. I was just recording the youngsters enjoying the outdoors, so there’s no close up or anything, but you can see Cappy, the large white one, walking around normal.
