These are my new babies born July 1. Any ideas as to what they will grow up to be (besides adult peafowl). A friend gave me eggs and did not have them marked as to what pen he too them out of.

They are sooo sweet. They want me to hold them all the time though. I still have them in the house because of the temperature flux here in MO. It is dropping from 98-100 day temp. to 70 night temps. My husband is going crazy with the squawking day and night

I don't really know how to transition them out. (I like having them in anyway - maybe I could ask my husband to stay in the barn!)
I am shocked at how quickly they are growing. They have the biggest eyes that seem to understand what you are saying!!

I'm in love...... Thanks for all the responses. I hope I do have a purple and a silver pied. I would LIKE them to be males, but I really need hens. If they just grow up healthy I'll be happy.....

Thanks again,
Billie Sue

Billie Sue,
Why not ask your friend what males he has and you can have an idea as to what they could be. One is pied and the other looks as if it has white in it too. One it's back looks like white feathers. A better picture would help.

I will post more pictures as soon as I can. (I tend to get better pictures if I have someone hold them while I take the picture) Our friend has a lot of peafowl. Current breading pairs the eggs could be from are Purple, Java Green, India Blue Pied, Black Shoulder, Bronze, Silver Pied, Cameo and Opal. He also cross breeds some of these to get other colors. So when I ask, he really did not know which pens they came from. He had over100 birds at that time and was not planning on incubating them so he did not label them that day. The only egg I know for sure was Purple because he went into the pen and brought it out to me. Not thinking, I did not label it either.

Just a side note, even though he has and sells a lot of birds, he cares for them very well. I would love to have a set up like he has. I have the land, but not the $$$ that it takes to be in it like he is. Hope to have more comments once I post more pictures.

Thanks,
Billie Sue
