So the buttons days of living the high-life on the porch are officially over! I went out right away and got their cage and brought them back inside. I was planning on doing this tomorrow, but with the heat kicking on so early, I figured better safe than sorry. So their humongous cage is in the bathroom, it's the only room that has space atm.

One thing I'm worried about is that when I first moved them outside (back in early May) I lost one of my hens the first night. This shouldn't happen in reverse, should it? I mean, that was from going from the relatively warm house to the tiny bit cooler outdoors, and they were covered. Them being outside for the past 4 months, then coming back in, won't kill them, will it?

I hope they don't get stressed out too badly, they took a full month to start laying again when I moved them outside!!

Hope they did well

My bathroom was covered in feathers, too much noise for them I guess. I put them back on the porch today, the weather here is always crazy

I'm going to clean their cage out and then bring them in for good. Their cage is a pita to clean, so I can make as big a mess as needed on the porch and it's easier to clean

Buttons can't handle extremely cold temps, they are only about as big as both your thumbs together. In the summer they were fine outside, but when it's cold they have to be either inside or have heat on them. It's just easier to bring them back in.
