Hello All,
This is Thornton in the front with the large comb. Early on I thought Thornton might be a rooster because (she/he) was consistently larger than the rest and had comb development sooner as well. There were no other indicators from what I could tell such as pointed feathers or spurs. Well yesterday Thornton started to crow but I have read that hens can crow especially if they are at the top of the pecking order which Thornton is. Thornton is such a sweetheart and always wants to be held and comes to (his/her) name. My question really is hen or rooster?
