Look at the back and tail of my hen here. And her crest and compare with yours.

Also, he hasn't got much lacing going on either.

Nope, still a boy! He has the two little nubs of comb that will form the V comb. Pullets and hens don't have that. Plus as I've mentioned before he has pronounced pointy saddle and neck feathers and a very obvious cockerel shaped crest.
