I had thought I had some of them figured out what breed they were but as I look at them more and they grow bigger I am questioning some of them again. LOL
Please go to my Blog and see the new pictures and see if you can tell me anything new.

There is a white one that I question and a black one. The white I thought was Leghorn and the black I thought Australorp. Now I think the black is a Andalusian and maybe the white or maybe not. LOL
There is another black one that is very fluffy and pretty. I thought she might be a Black Giant but she isn't any bigger than the others.
The other one is the one I call amber. I thought she was a Golden buff but she got redder and redder and now she is starting to get little dark feathers around her neck and black on her tail.

I would really love to hear what you all have to say about them.

Well, I am no expert on Black chicken breeds but your black one could be a Black Minorca. A Minorca, Andalusian and a Leghorn all are Mediterranean breeds and all get about the same sized comb. The white one cannot be a Andalusian as when you breed Andalusians, you get either Blue, Black or Splash, not White. It could still be a Leghorn.
The red/buff I bet is a New Hampshire.

looking all the way back, your barred rocks are cuckoo marans, those baby chicks look just like mine. my white leghorns were very yellow as chicks.

Wow, your Kizzy sure looks a lot like my Betty, who is also about 11 weeks old. Betty is supposed to be a Black Australorp and she is super sweet!

Oh, dear, you just added another breed to the list. I thought I ruled out Minorca but I don't remember how I did that. I will have to study some more on that one.

I thought there were white Andalusians so now I am pretty sure she is a leghorn.
And you confermed the New Hamp for Amber. I am happy with that. I am happy with all my chicks I just want to know what they are. LOL
Thanks so much for your help.

Thanks for confirming that about the marans. I was really wanting some dark egg layers. I don't know how dark they will be because they from a hatchery but what ever they do will be fine. ;] I ended up with a Rooster Leghorn named Willard and one hen. I just thought her comb was really small for a leghron of 11 weeks. It isn't getting any bigger.

Oh my, she does look like Kizzy. I was told the other black one, Willa, was the Australorp. But the body isn't right. I noticed that when I got some new baby Australorps locally. they fluffed out right away and she is very sleek. So Kizzy is more like them. I love her eyes. She has eyes bigger than any of the others. I haven't really noticed the new babies eyes being that big yet.

I remember now after looking over the Meyer's site again why I ruled out Minorca. They don't have them. They don't have black leghorns either. So she must be an Andalusian by process of elimination. Or they just threw something in there to make me crazy. LOL
