11th Annual Easter Hatch a Long 2020

Ducklings take forever. Mine have been internally pipped since yesterday.

Yes! I always forget how agonizingly slow water fowl are compared to chickens.
I had some hatch a week ago and they were shadowing in the air cell the day before lock down, in the cell the next day, externally pipped the following day, zipped an inch and then sat that way for hours, before hatching on the morning of the day they were due. Silly ducks. I do love them so much more than chickens though, they’re so fun.

I’ll be honest... every 30 minutes I keep running to the incubator and peering in the little window... I have no control
patience does not work with me!

Congrats on all the hatches so far!

Here I have 15 chicken chicks hatched and fluffed up, and a bunch of Muscovy eggs getting close.

I was expecting mine to hatch Friday also. Today is the start of day 20 and the end of a full 19 days..

It will be soon!

All locked down here. I got the humidity up, turner removed and shelf paper set down. Now the wait... Do you think I should I place the eggs closer together even though it would mean opening the incubator?

It will be fine! The first one to hatch usually plays hockey with the eggs anyway

The early bird gets the worm.. this little one didn't want to wait another day. Its the beginning of day 20 for mine and here we have a fast hatcher.

Pip to chick in about 6 to 7 hours..

I love it so much when pip to hatch is fast.
