I recommend the Hinkles eggs more than anyone else! My grandfarther ordered some around april (not sure eggzzactly) But he hatched 2 BEAUTIFUL Blacks. This was extremly lucky they even hatched because the hens got off them a few days early. We just got another batch thats due to hatch THIS FRIDAY! Wooo im sure they will all hatch and YOURS WILL TOO. They are packed perfect.
I love the tufts !!! I got an Araucana rooster from Nadine last spring..... Now I have a gorgeous flock of rumpless hens that hatched from eggs laid by a Game hen, a Barred Rock hen and a hen that is supposed to be an EE.
PLUS, I have a brooder full of white/black speckles young hens from crossing the rooster with Leg Horns.
My incubator is full of Cuckoo Maran eggs fertilized by the same rooster.
If I wasn't in the process of moving my horses to property beside my house, I would order a dozen, just to see if I could get a rooster that matches the hen in the second picture.........
Here are a couple of the white hens (pic from last year - one was broody and the other laying an egg).
I'll try to get a pic of current eggs being layed. This is a pic of my typical araucana eggs, however with the late season the shells are lighter and some are blue/green. None will be olive green (like around the basket).
I currently do not have them housed tuft to tuft. The white pen is the tufted rumpless white boys over all clean face rumpless hens. The mixed pen is a clean faced rumpless male over tufted/tailed, tufted/rumpless and clean faced rumpless hens. Mortality does still occur with tufts, but is greatly reduced breeding this way.
