You know, I also wanted to add:
I have tied flies for a while & have come to love the barred hackle and white hackle.
Both can be dyed to about any color under the sun.
Good looking birds !

I have never tied one, but I sure love fishing! That would be neat to learn.

One of these days I'd like to have some barred phoenix type longtails

Working on them Soli.. The only problem you will encounter is the barring in the tail is not as good because of the rapid growth of the tail.. So you get solid patches.. The barring and the gt gene together don't make clean barring.. the saddles come out great though..
