I have Delaware and Barred Rock hens in a pen with a RIR rooster. Eggs are mixed, and cannot tell them apart.
White/light chicks are boys, as are the pure black with white spots on the head.
Dark ginger/red chicks, and pure black chicks (no spot on head) are girls.
Excellent fertility...
