99.5 will be fine, what kind of thermostat is it? How big of heat lamp?

It is a normal sized heat lamp....

How many watts? What kind of thermostat is it? Some heat lamps aren't strong enough to do that. Do you just have a heat lamp or do you set the temperature on a light dimmer or hot water heater thermostat? If you set it at 99 and it doesn't have enough power it could be a problem.
