12+ Uncle Irvin's Chicken Hatching Eggs

Up for sale are 12 fertile hatching eggs that are a product of natural selection from what's left of my great uncles flock(estimated at around 50+ birds). Uncle Irvin lived an old fashioned isolated life on a secluded farm here in central Texas. He lived a fairly self sufficient life amazingly without running water. Unfortunately he passed away this past summer, and wasn't discovered for several weeks. At the time, we were in the Middle of one of the worst droughts ever to hit our region. He had several breeding pens, and a number of juvenile birds penned separately that he was raising. Unfortunately all the penned birds didn't survive. He did however have a large free ranging flock that, to our amazement, appeared to be thriving. I'm not sure where these birds were getting there water, or what they were living off of at the time. I visited his homestead soon after the discovery of his passing, but wasn't able to make it back to the farm for a few months. His farm had a large wooded creek running through it, that has a healthy population of coyotes and bobcats. When I finally did make it back to the farm, there were only 7 remaining hens and a rooster. I asked my father if I could have the birds. After a couple of weeks of being well taken care of, the hens began laying daily(This was the beginning of January). The birds are prolific layers of green, brown, and cream colored eggs. The eggs are of good size, and the birds themselves are quite attractive. I'm not sure what breeds he was working with, but I think he was on to something. The free ranging flock received little care, and the remaining birds are a product of natural selection and many years of breeding for traits my uncle found desirable. I'm sure you'll be pleased hatching and raising this one of kind bird.

How great that you are preserving his breed! Thats how landrace breeds are developed and I am sure he would be pleased that you are crryingon his endevors.
will you have campine bantam eggs available later this spring ? How do they compare in size to say the old english duckwing? How much for a dozen of their eggs and shipping?

Yes, shipping is extra. Sorry for not being more clear. Also, I've had questions about whether these chickens are more "meat type' or more "layer type". I would classify these birds as dual purpose. They are medium sized birds of fairly good build and so far have been very good layers.
