I find that chicks are all a little coo coo and don't like humans so much, wait til she gets older...she should calm down.

I would recommend turning out the lights. Also about her being flighty and not liking human contact, just hold her for a little bit and carry her around. This might help her trust you. Good Luck!

I wish I could hire a Chicken Whisperer for that! She is almost frightening in her resistance to people, like murderous squawking and struggling, even at just trying to gently pet her.

Old post I know but we had fireworks going off tonight and that caused my girls to pant heavily... Probably just stressed over the big booms
