12 week old silkie, pullet or roo?

Hi,

This is my 12 week old silkie, can i get some advice of whether this is a roo or pulle please?

She looks like a pullet to me. Just so you know silkies are hard to sex, this isn’t a 100% situation. But I am fairly sure you got a little pullet.

Comb and wattles seem big for 12 weeks. Also comb looks like it is getting color to it and raised. Pullets have very flat combs at this age usually. I am leaning towards a cockerel. Silkies are tricky!

What age would this silkie start crowing if it was a cockeral?

Varies. Mine started right around 4 months of age. By then you will also see more "streamer feathers" developing off of the crest as well.

I agree with you all. I was dumb and didn’t read his age right. I thought he was 6 months old. I am very sorry for giving you false hope, it’s was a dumb mistake. I am very sorry
