If it is Valgus Varus, then generally that can not be corrected. It's a leg bone deformity, either genetic or sometimes due to deficiency in parent stock. Like you found in your research.

So Vitamin will support her a bit in having strength in bones
@Tanya22 if her bone stopped curving she will adapt her body Vitamin will support her bones to have strength

Vitamin therapy might help, but they can't be used long term. Not all vitamins are excreted in the urine like B vitamins are, so you risk toxicity if not careful.

Most chickens with a bone deformity get worse as they get heavier. The tendon can blow out due to weight or they may actually have another developmental problem that does not show up until the mature more and come into lay.

It's hard to know if there can be improvement, only time will tell. Quality of life needs to be evaluated every step of the way.

Oh yes I siggest for 2 weeks calcium & month for multi-vitamins

Tooki's toes especially are very rubbery. Her legs are hard to the touch but her toes keep overlapping each other.
On the other hand I know a girl who herself has had experience in raising chickens in the rural area. She had told me around a month back that Tooki's legs didn't have blood circulation. I asked her to see Tooki's feet again yesterday and she said that her legs have some circulation now but that her footpads need more blood flow.

Tooki and Brownie both have crossed a month of continuous multivitamins (Proviboost). Should I stop them?

If you want to stop u can stop it but If she's mine I'll continue small quantities won't hurt cause we have chicken who eat things in 0 nutrients

Blood circulation reach a whole leg .. if they seems rubbery might be rickets mix with deformation too ..there are so many things mix with one and make them more weak ..

If u see tooki is stable in her condition u can stop everything if u want but except her Sea Shell grit as she need them daily cz she's a hen and will lay soon

And alot of sunlight they require about 17 hrs natural daylight for laying egg

Now give her daily sunlight for at least 1 hour daily this won't hurt her except in summer

I am not stopping the vitamins for now. As we discussed it is better if I continue.

So, I observed yesterday that Tooki was pooping more times. Before she would poop only once or twice in a day and they were very big. I think it was because she couldn't get up so.
I have also observed her try to lift herself. Just a tiny bit but she is trying and that just makes me so happy! She couldn't do this before but now she is trying. Her legs are still doing the splits and she struggles most of the time but there is a tiny bit of improvement.
Today is the 4th day of her 2 week treatment and I am just keeping my fingers crossed.
