I incubated and hatched 3 eggs, sold to me as Orpingtons, although my beautiful black Betty is already as big as a small turkey.
Betty = people seem content that she is a pullet. However, she is huge; I’d be interested in your thoughts here. Very small, pale comb and wattles but pointier feathers than the buffs. Gentle but nervous temperament - will sit on us he doesn’t like being petted.
Scout = smallest of the 3, very small, pale comb and wattles. Rounded feathers from what I can see. Happy to be petted.
Freya = bright red comb and wattle, but not unlike pullets I’ve had in the past. Rounded feathers from what I can see. A pecker - will peck any attempts at petting away. If she’s a pullet, she’s as alpha as they get.
What do you all think?

(I’m putting Betty onto another thread questioning her Orpington status - I know Orpingtons are large, but she’s a monster)
