12th Annual 2021 BYC New Year's Day Hatch-Along!

Pics
Well, looks like the hatch is over for me... out of 8 duck eggs, 3 hatched. Out of 15 chicken eggs, 4 hatched... late comer late yesterday afternoon, now in with the ducklings and other 3 chicks. Two cockerels, two pullets. Ducklings, won't know until 4-5 months from now! What fun! BTW, I had a beautiful NYD surprise! My two ducklings I hatched during the summer? They started laying on NYD! Yippee!
congrats!

I am suddenly feeling MUCH better about my hatch rate. and my sincere condolences for those with very low hatch rates. After a recent 0% on my duck eggs, and just 33% on the batch of chicks that followed, I know your pain. Better fortunes next time!

were these your eggs?? sorry if duplicate question
Yes. Final count was 19 hatched, 31 were not fertile (my mistake caused it) 10 quit, 1 died in incubator. So, I have 18 chicks. Gotta put a male in the mistake pen. LOL. Doing too much at one time, gives a chance for a major error to happen. Always learn from your mistakes.
