Ended 12th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-Along—Natural Egg Photo Contest

Entry #1: You guys HAVE to tell me all your breeds! Especially the dark olives and greens. I'm in love! I only have Ameraucanas, EEs, BCMs, & BRs. I'm looking for more color variety!

Love the colors you have! Which of yours laid those darker reddish eggs? Those are lovely! 🤩 I'm planning to get a few EE's to go with my RIRs and RIR + SLW mixes (hoping for green eggs like yours), but I'd love to have a hen that lays that deeper red too if they are available. 😊 I want lots of color varieties as well! šŸ˜

I've had great luck crossing lavender and black Americauna hens with my FBC marans rooster. They lay deep olive eggs with brown speckles (in my photo it's the deep dark olive egg) and lighter olive eggs with dark brown speckles (I call them mint chocolate chip eggs). The hens are either blue with feathered legs and muffs, with variable black speckling, or black with feathered legs and muffs and tufts. The only "drawback" is they tend to be on the broody side.
