A little bit early lockdown over here because some of the development is looking pretty far along. I still can't believe all 22 eggs are viable and made it to lockdown! :ya

I have 9 egg in the incubator and today is day 20. My neighbors (including me) had a power outage today for 3+ hours. So, I covered my incubator with several blankets. Also, I boiled some water on a gas stove, poured the water in two jars and put them in the incubator. I left a small portion open for air ventilation. My question is - Will the eggs survive? @MGG @JaeG @BullChick @WVduckchick @CluckNDoodle @ronott1 and everyone else.

They should be fine - it takes a long time for the core temperature of the egg to fall enough to kill the chick/duckling and by day 20 they are generating a bit of heat for themselves as well.

Probably, especially with them being so far along in incubation. If you have losses I would imagine they will be minimal but expect a slightly delayed hatch.

If it makes you feel better, I had a hen abandon eggs in 40-degree weather for many hours before I found them completely cold to the touch and while I did lose some there were survivors even in those temps.

Thank you everyone so much! It makes me feel way better that they will survive!
