I always forget just how impatient I am when it comes to hatching eggs

I have put my eggs in yesterday the 13th do I need to sign up anywhere or not also this is such a coincidence I only joined BYC today and put eggs in yesterday without seeing this so I’m at happy that I did just would like to know if I have to sign up anywhere

For those that don't already know, @OneMountainAcres has the hardest job of the hatch-along, she is the one tracking how many people are participating, how many eggs you all set & the number that hatch. There are two contests that rely on these numbers, guess how many will be set, and guess how many will hatch.

We appreciate you so much @OneMountainAcres !!!!!

Thank you! It’s my first ever incubator hatch. Eggs were chosen and prepared to the best of my ability. However, I have no expectation other than to learn something. The labels keep track of some reasons why an egg might not hatch, such as dirty egg, parents’ fertility, age of egg, etc. My current profile banner photo contains the pedigree.
Pierre, a 6 year old EE proven sire. Pajamas, his grandson EE. Also 2 Naked Neck cockerels from Pierre with a proven EE hen to see if they’re fertile.

(I need to figure out how to start separate threads for photo record-keeping of egg production and pedigrees)

I use all kinds of labels as well, it does definitely always help

I set 12 a week ago but only 7 were fertile.

Hi Y'all! I've been a long time stalker but this is my first post. I remember seeing this hatch a long & knowing I was wanting to join, but I thought the set date was today for some reason. I hope its not too late to join. I've been collecting eggs all week & I've got both of the bigger incubators running, I'm about to set 73 eggs!

Thank you! Same to you! I might have gone overboard... Since I saw the 5 to 7 days grace period... I've added 2 more Easter Egger eggs and a House Sparrow egg so I have 4 eggs set and a mini sparrow egg. I don't know what I've done, but I felt wretched leaving the little egg just lying there on the ground... This should be interesting.

Going overboard with eggs is always great as long as you've got the room for it

Well, due to medical reasons didn't get my incubator set on the 13th like I wanted. I just loaded it up with Black Copper Marans, and Black Copper Marans mixes. I have had them hatch a day or two early before so I may get 1 or 2 to start pipping on Easter. Good luck on everyone's hatches.
