@Cynthia12...I have one too. This one's still alive and bouncing around by where the air cell should be:

I placed it back into the incubator for now and made sure to put it in more of an upright position then it was in before. I'm hoping it still has a chance to correct itself but guess I'll just have to wait and see.

I know that I don't qualify because I'm a bit late to the game, but, now that I'm here, I just wanted to say that my shipped eggs arrived today and I'm SO EXCITED!!! I'll let them settle in the basement (where it's cooler) and put them in the incubator Saturday morning. Is that too long? They would've had a day and a half to settle. I want to set them on a weekend day so that they (ideally) hatch on a weekend day too, when we'll be free to watch them and not pretend to be working but really be up there glued to the 'bator :D

I'll be honest, I wouldn't wait that long. You could, but my experience has been that the fresher the eggs the better the hatch. Now, right now I'm Incubating old eggs that were stored in the refrigerator and they're doing great so far with hatch day in just a couple days so I may need to throw that rule out the window, lol! But overall, I predominantly experience better hatches with fresher eggs. Lol

I absolutely agree about fresh eggs. The question is... How much of a difference will half a day, or even a full day, make? Obviously eggs that are 2 days old are better than eggs that are 2 weeks old, but what's the practical difference between eggs that are, say, 4 days old vs. 5.5 days old? (as would be the case here - the breeder collects for a couple of days and then ships, and these eggs shipped on Tuesday of this week).

That is totally up to you! I'm the kind of person that only waits 6-8 hours to set shipped eggs because I feel like "time is of the essence". So when you say set on Saturday my brain hears 2 additional days, lol, but you're probably right! Might as well set them when you can watch if there were collected and shipped quickly. :) Good luck!!

I had 9 barnyard mixes go into lockdown. 8 hatched. 😍. They're little chipmunks! The gal thinks some are EE'S. Came from brown eggs, but I do see some green in a couple of them...thier legs/feet..so it's a possibility I'll get a blue/green egg, or olive egg. Two look to be Barred Rock mixes. Awww, they are so CUTE! :love They remind me of the Wyandotte mixes I hatched last year:

Any nail polish will work, that's just the name of the color. Lol, Gunmetal Glitter. ;) When I repair eggs with nail polish they get named after the polish color. Lol :lau
I love it. 🤣 If my cracked egg lives (just put it in a few days ago, one of my hens started laying again after a 2 month break), I guess the name would be... base coat / top coat. 😆 🤷‍♀️ Gunmetal Glitter definitely has more of a ring to it. 😅 Curious, what other names have you used?
