Stoic update.....
I was outta town from Monday till Wednesday night. 23 y/o was "tending to the fur kids and the flock.... when i got home was not pleased and exhausted.

got home today from work and discovered that Broody silkie Momma had #5 egg hatch over the last 24 hours. I immediately looked at the 23 y/o son and said this isn't good.... we need to move here and them to the crate NOW. You go clean these water containers and bring them back quick and then bring the food (crumbles) in a small bowl as well .... I'll stay here and prep the crate.

Got here moved. Recandled the other 4 eggs.
#1 looks still possible and slowly developing...maybe
#2 had several micro fractures and had leaked along a ~3/4" crack as well as appeared to stop growing
# 3 & 4 appear to still be growing and much darker then #1 but, don't see an air pocket ....

:fl

And this is how they Will travel , deluxe ⭐

I can confirm 3 eggs are developing as I saw embryos dancing around in them last night, including the patchy egg that had part of the color washed off of it!! :celebrateI believe all three of those eggs belong to Nadine (I wasn't 100% sure on two of them when I set them, but comparing them to the egg I know for sure is Nadine's now makes me think they are). This has me a tiny bit concerned that only her eggs were fertilized, as she's had chicks with Murphy before while the other two haven't, and I'm not seeing any veining or anything in the others even though only one actually looks like a dud to me. 🤔 I'm doing the 'official' candling for the week tonight, day 6 for two of the eggs and day 8 for the rest, so I'll take a closer look then. :fl

We have strong winds, and the power has gone out. It was only for a moment, but I didn’t even think about the incubator. It’s like a colicky baby. Once you know what to do, it’s not a worry. I have Hot Hands and towels, but I don’t think we would lose power for more than a few hours. Otherwise, I’d prepare by putting hot water in a carafe and travel mugs now.
Last night’s candle was pretty amusing as it looked like one had its bottom against the shell where the light was. Can we say, “male?”

Hopefully no more flickering power for you.
