Checked on my incubator yesterday morning, it was 105 degrees in there and climbing, according to the thermometer I put inside. The thermometer reading on the incubator said 98.5, and it was stuck. I opened it real quick and let the hot air out, and then tapped on the lid of the incubator. Suddenly, it registered it was 101.5 and shut the heat off. I don't think it was like that too long.

Yesterday afternoon, I checked again and it was starting to dip below 96 and not come on. So I had to up the temperature. Now I'm at 101.8 on the unit just to keep it maintaining at 98 degrees in there. It's maddening and not helping me stay calm and wait for chicks to externally pip. I'm terrified it's going to stick again and cook the chicks before they get to hatch.

Oh my gosh! What kind of Incubator is it???? I need to never get one. Lol

All of the hatching and excitement in this thread is making me repeatedly check my eggs (that are on day 20 today, lol) and even though I just hatched 22 chicks last week I'm feeling so impatient with the chicks that are due tomorrow.

Quail hatch like popcorn popping! Can't take your eyes away from the incubator or you will miss one hatch!
I have two more pips 4/7 so far. My ducklings are due tomorrow.

I woke up to chickys in the incubator! 5 Pita Pintas have hatched and 3 Blue Marans.
My call ducklings hatch finished yesterday. It was heartbreaking , the worse hatch I've ever had with them. Trying to figure out what went wrong exactly so it doesn't happen again. I have only 5 live ducklings but one isn't doing very well.
