And my second hatch, 'not an easter hatch' is busting at the seams today.

And I have one loverly EE that has decided to go broody! My first broody ever.. Meet Snowflake. She's been on it 7 days now.. hopefully she will succeed in her first ever hatch along.View attachment 2635560

Congratulations they're beautiful. I was wondering cuz I never had a broody hen is it easier than to incubate. I was just wondering

I really can't say.. This is my first time with a broody hen. I'm hoping she will be a good momma too, or the chicks will come into a brooder.

Even with one ditzy broody, I prefer it over incubating. No electricity, I’m not tempted to candle, and if an egg doesn’t hatch, it wasn’t meant to.

I'd love to have some goats to help keep this place cleaned up. Though not actually true grazers, every little bit help. He's/She's so cute!

I'm going to agree with you there. Of the 8 Beilefelder eggs that went into the incubator, I have 4 hatching and I believe 4 quitters, we shall see. But that is life, they weren't meant to be if they don't hatch. I'm cheering Snowflake on as it's her first time being a broody. She's hatching the same type of eggs that went into the incubator... EEs and Beilefelders.

I've been clearing my land for 2 years all by hand, I need something to help keep it down now.. Mowing is tedious.
