I apparently need more chickens. I thought mine would lay better through winter, but I've been getting only 4-5 a week from 6.

Yesterday, though, I got TWO! Woo-Hoo!

Mine have slowed down in laying too but what do you expect with the temps we've been having...poor things are just trying to stay warm.

White Rock has laid hers for the day, Black Maria is sitting on her nest (egg shortly ... ) but will have to search the whole property to see where Victoria the EE has laid hers ... she's due ... has been laying every other day ...

we decided to name the roo "Albert" and the EE who dug out of the coop "Victoria" because it is obviously a love match and they are obviously the King and Queen .... apparently the roo helped by digging on the outside of the coop ...

under Blondie the broody, I can now see four yellow heads, one chipmunk-striped and one dark brown ... will be interesting to see how many of the 19 actually make it out of the egg ...
