13 Packing Peanuts?

My chicks arrived this morning (post office called me at 6:35 am!) I ordered 7 red broilers and 6 naked necks from Ideal-and ended up with 26 chicks !?! All alive and doing well so far. Guess DH will be building a bigger brooder this weekend. My Plastic tote brooder will not work for long. I love Ideal hatchery.

Yeah, I'm thrilled with the extras--but since this is my first attempt at raising chickens I was hoping to start with just a few--ha! More for the freezer in a few weeks.

We ordered from them before and had the same experience. I thought it was great. Later we sent all those roos to freezer camp.

Last time I ordered 24 chicks so they didn't add any packing peanuts, but usually I get 8-12 of them which is great because I sell them and it helps pay for the chicks!

I got 10 packing peanuts from Ideal and 9 go home Saturday!! Kept one it was just to cute

Holy smokes!!! I hear through the BYC grapevine that you can pay a few dollars' insurance (hush money!!!!) and they won't include extra boy chicks.

Freezer camp!!!

My DH was disappointed I ordered enough birds there were no packing peanuts in our order.
