13 Week Old Barred Rock: Roo or Pullet?

She looks like a pullet, but do you know her parents? I had a (what I thought she was) Barred Rock pullet, and when she hit 4 months, literally over night. POOF. Male black sex link. lol I was pretty shocked, my Lydia turned out to be a Lynden <3

But she's very beautiful, makes me miss my boy </3

i have a 4 week barred rock pullet, and this is my first go round doin the chicken thang! cant wait til shes all feathered out, they are so pretty. love the pics, pretty lookin birds!

The other thing that SpeckledHen didn't state is the pullets are darker than the cockerel. Notice the difference between the 2 that JodyJo posted. The girls are more distinct black and white, where the male is more clouded black and white.

Thank you, she was my first BBS Orp hatched from Nava. Her name is Borpy Orfington! Sweet girl but lays funny, thin shelled eggs. Getting better, but still a little sandpaper feeling.

if that chicken is only 13 weeks old, i have to doubt it being a pullet. i know it sure looks like one in color and shape, but that is just too much comb for a pullet that age. maybe you are mistaken of its age?
