I have 2 13 week old BSL hens. One has a red comb that gets redder by the day and is bigger than the other one, her ears and wattles(I think that's what they are called) are red also. Well, they both squawk a lot, but if I pet them they will squat and quiet down. It's almost as if they are yelling at me to pet them. They do this every time I go outside. Is there any significance to this? Also, is there a possibility that the BSL with the bigger comb is a roo? I haven't heard any crowing, but it does seem like there is a tail feather that is starting to curl.

Silly question, I'm still learning the terms, what does barred mean? Also, how long before I should start seeing eggs?

Ok, no black and white stripes so she is definitely a hen. :yesss: is it normal for them to begin to show this behavior this early? Everything j have read says 20 to 25 weeks.

Oh wow! Well, I'm not gonna lie, I wouldnt be mad if they started laying soon. Haha. Thanks for all of your help.

I am excited for my girls to start laying. Double yolked eggs??!! That sounds like the perfect eggs over easy with toast breakfast! Yum!
