Hey guys! I’m new to owning chickens. And I have 4 13 week old pullets. One of my White rocks has been acting a little strange the past few days. Nothing too crazy, just not as spunky and energetic. Sometimes I find her in the corner of the barn away from her sisters. But I figured it was just because it has been unbearably hot the past week or two. And she can be a bit of a weirdo and slower than the rest. She’s significantly smaller than the other two white rocks as well.. And has been her whole life.
Tonight as I was locking up the coop I noticed this weird looking thing in the wood chips next to their nesting boxes and I figured at first it was a dead lizard but I shined my phone light on it and took some pictures because it did not look normal and it seemed to have come out of a chicken because it has some white marks on it from urine. I spent about an hour researching thinking it was poop and maybe somebody is extremely constipated. But the closest explanation I can find on the internet is lash eggs. But none of my girls are even close to laying age yet. I’m convinced this came out of one of my girls. Is this a lash egg of sorts? It’s huge compared to their usual poop right now. I watch their poop like a hawk, being a first time chicken owner I’m pretty paranoid and always looking for signs of sickness. I just hope maybe somebody can give me some answers? Or maybe I’m crazy and this is a dead lizard or something?

Can you cut it open and take a picture?
Yes, please!
Not seeing any urates.
Could just be a really funky poop...almost looks like some grains in there.
What all do you feed?

Oh, and...Welcome to BYC! @koeblen1414

Thank you! And I threw it away already last night. But it was kind of fatty looking and layered. They are still eating starter grower feed. But we have 3 acres that they roam during the day, they are only put up at night. So their diet is varied. We do have horses that they hangout with most of the day. Sometimes they snack on chewed up grain that my 30yr old gelding drops on the ground. I also have a garden that they roam around sometimes.
I live in East Texas in the swamps. So it’s super humid and hot right now.

Forever a mystery then....unless you find another.

I did! I came out into the coop just now, I found this smaller one. I took a stick and ripped it open. This is what it looks like

Cut it lengthwise too.
It does look like lash material.
Odd for a 13wk old....do you have older layers too?
Here’s some lengthwise pics. And I thought it was the craziest thing too. All I have is the 13 week olds. I got them all at the same place and at a day old.
I spent hours researching but couldn’t find anything on young, practically chicks, laying lash eggs. Maybe she has a tumor on her reproductive system or something like that? I’m going to separate them tonight and narrow down exactly which one it is. But I’m wondering if it’s the one who I thought was sick or overheated the other day.
