13 year old hen

We got Ethel 3 little pullets that are now 5 weeks old. She had been visiting with the baby chicks while they were in the brooder. We moved them out to the big girl house yesterday and Ethel LOVES them. She didn't peck at them and seemed happy to have company.

It is with great sadness I report our 13 almost 14 year old girl Ethel went over the rainbow bridge. I noticed she wasn't doing well and then found her dead in her coop. We buried her under the rhododendron tree next to her coop.

Very very sad for you...you are a great chicken owner, but i think you know it yet...
I think she had a great and long, long life. Something i wish for all my chickens.

I think Ethel is now running like a chick in a fantastic grass field with other our lost chickens.

Thank you, I'm sure Ethel is with her sisters Diva and Betsy... it was sad day when I found her. I was blessed and I still call her name when I go out to feed and then realize she's gone.

Yes, it's so hard to lost our chickens, and realize it..it's even more difficult..I totally understand you

She had an amazing life, was fed well, had 3 dogs she loved and she even came into watch tv. Yes, she came in the house and she never once pooped .

Oh I am so sorry!! She had a wonderful life with you, she knows how loved she was and still is. I hope your heavy heart heals soon.
