Happy chicks, under the correct temperature heat lamp will be active and making happy chick noises.
When they sleep they should be in a loose ring. Middle of ring empty where it is too hot, but that too hot spot should be small.
If they all pile on top of each other in the center under the lamp, they are too cold.
If the too hot spot is huge, then... the lamp is too hot.
