Call me crazy but i named all hens.. and this time i write also names on eggs male mame on one side female on another. So i can see do they turn right and also that they have name once they are hatched i do wings sexing method when they are hatched and I Always was right about it. I use this method on backyard mix.

Wow! My friend got 20 baby chicks said to be female and they were ALL male! You must be really good with it sad thing about wing sexing is you have a very short window in doing it or else it wont work.

Setting 0, unfortunately. Did not get a broody in time.

Ive gotten atleast 20 broodies in total in the past few days! But vanilla cant reach on top of them yet and can only reach bean! (Which is the only one who HASNT laid!!)

After i was geting males for females for years i decided to learn.. now they are afraid of me at fairY where they sell hens and chiks.. i also check hens pelvic bones now to see will she be good layer before i buy her. Nah no more messing up with this guy

I set 8 eggs on Sunday, not sure if that counts. 5 Olive Egger eggs (maran x Ameraucana cross) and 3 from my favorite bantam Cochin (same Ameraucana roo). That should be a cute little chicken.

I originally message saying we had set 11 dozen but we just put 6 more dozen in We don’t know what we will do with this many birds but hey maybe i can quit my job and become a full time chicken mom hahaha
