You do want them to get out of the incubator when they are dry though. Even though the chicks can make it three days, It is no very good for them and some will die.Thanks for the info.
I keep seeing "Sit on your hands" advised in the hatching threads so I *thought* it might be OK to just have my son watch the humidity with instructions to keep the lid closed and let nature happen. But I needed the reassurance.

Yes, they are your eggs!Will it still count if I ask a friend (not a BYC member) to set eggs for me for this contest? I would let her borrow my incubator and provide the eggs. I haven't asked, and I may end up doing it myself. Just curious if this was allowed.
