Is 14 hens too many for 1 rooster? Will he "work" himself to death? Thanks

He won't. Some people even keep one roo with 20-30 hens. But because of all the roos getting killed because no one wants them, I'd say get 1 or 2 more roos.

we have 4 roos for 30-40 chickens they have not got agrresive yet but we raised them since they where 1-2 weeks old you should have 1 for every 12 chickens about

He'll be a very busy boy if you keep just him.....but he will be VERY fit chasing the girls.
