Now I am thinking about saying cockerel, because of those features...and s/he also looks a little manly, but you can't really go off that. And I know silkies tend to have very round tails anyways, but then again, the tail still doesn't seem like a cock's.. At all. Is it around any roosters, like perhaps in the same pen with it? Does it have roo-like behavior(s) or not? If it is a rooster, then I'd *think* it'd have crowed by now, or at least have tried to, but definitely not necessarily. :) I have a mystery silkie, too...one with a large comb, small but-more-noticeable-than-my-other-silkies's waddles, and a roo-like behavior/personality, but they're the same size, and I'm not getting anymore (and didn't get enough to know for sure, anyways) eggs or hearing any crows...or anyone attempting to. I also don't know how old mine are...but I think they're under a year, but definitely older than four-months. Sorry it make take several more months before you know for absolute certain. :p I know the suspense in waiting to know their gender is almost as hard as waiting to know a breed or for that first egg.

Eh can we plz get a better look tab the comb? If that’s possible
I had a dominant rooster, black copper maran, that I just sold last week. It's just been in the past week that I noticed more comb and streamer/crest development. It doesn't act any different than my other silkies. No crowing. I attached a few more close ups of its comb. It will be 17 weeks tomorrow.

She was about 16 weeks. The first time I heard it I really thought something was strangling her. So some googling later... http://www.bootstrappin.com/2008/10/cock-a-doodle-doo-dialects-of-the-rooster/ I thought hmm, my little cockerel has an accent!

We had her with 6 red sex links the same age. The red sex link all started laying so I figured "his" hormones were starting to rev up. It wasn't until about 24 weeks we had a 7 egg day. I asked her "did you lay this?" ERRR errr ERRR!
