My friend was given a BO a while back because the previous owner thought it was a roo, and couldn't keep it. This guy/girl is now about 14 weeks old, and my friend is questioning if its actually a boy now.
It developed a comb and wattles earlier on, which definitely supports theory of boy. However, my friend said the comb hasn't gotten bigger lately. I have a confirmed BO roo who is 10 weeks old, who has larger wattles, and who's comb is on par with this one at 4 weeks younger.
I'll post the pictures she sent me, that she was able to get. There isn't a clear shot of the saddle feathers but it was getting dark when she was trying to take pictures, and since they were sent through text the quality isn't quite as sharp.
I know that they all develop at different paces, but with how early this one began growing it's comb and wattles....wouldn't you think they'd be bigger by now?
No crowing.
Is there anything in these pictures and with the backstory that says "definitely rooster" to you? I'm going to be going there tomorrow and I'll take a look but I'm definitely no expert, by any means!! She's had chickens for way longer than I have and is feeling like this could possibly be a girl. Thoughts?
