I am somewhat confused [IMG] I thought that the nest boxes should be placed in the coop closer to when the hens would be laying. I have 14 week old BR, BO, Isa Brn and Araucuna. We just placed the nest box in their coop last weekend but blocked it so they could not climb on or in it. At times I still find them standing there still staring at the "New Thing".

When should I uncover it and place the fake eggs in there for them?

You could wait a few more weeks. Wait till you think you see one searching for a nice nest.
