Entry 1 - it was hard to get a photo of Alfredo in the shell, she kicked herself out of it within a minute. Little fighter here

Aww, how adorable! 🥰🥰 By any chance, do you have the original pictures to these?
Not an entry, just the little one within the minute she kicked the shell away from her.

Unless this can be an entry lol.

She looks so cute! :love

She's not partly in the shell, sorry. This contest is open to chicks outside of the shell though: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...hoto-contest—win-a-brinsea-incubator.1564322/

It’s finally been happening the last two nights !!

Yay! Finally! :wee How can you step away from the incubator when they are that cute? :love:love
I just want to add something about the incubator recommendation we talked about a bit ago now.
If you do use this incubator you should put sponges in the water trough, instead of standing water. After having a terrible incident that lost me a chick, I will never have standing water in the incubator again and plan on removing the chicks right upon hatching/seeing them.
Oh no! I'm sorry that you lost a chick. Thank you for the input. If I get one of those, I'll definitely will have to do that. When I had incubators before, the water was below them with this wire mesh keeping them out of it.

If you could only look through my camera roll you would know I haven’t been able to step away  I even took the day off work today to finish watching them all hatch !

I’ve gotten a good suggestion on using hand towels inside the water reservoir to help keep the chicks out of standing water!
Oh! Something I’d also like to mention about the incubator is that the chicks have next to no room to try and stand up either causing them to hit their head to try and go over eggs or just get stuck between the egg and the lid a little bit

Wow, ok. I'd want to do that too.

Ok, that's good. Something I've done with my chick waterers is put those flat marbles inside them. Maybe that's an idea too?
Oh. I'm starting to think that that incubator isn't that good. It seems like it has a lot of issues concerning the chicks' well being.

From the thread I posted, a lot of people really don’t like this incubator. I liked it until I got to hatching.. Now it just seems like there’s more issues than not.

Yeah, that's unfortunate. It's really sad because at first sight, I loved it. But if it has all those issues, I wouldn't want it.

Thank you! What original photos are you referring to? I am so hopeful it is a she
On your two entries. Both of them are screenshots, so I was wondering if you had the original pictures that are not screenshots. :)
