I don't believe that because if it were actually true then commercial hatcheries would use temperature controls to hatch mostly females.

Janie I laughed out loud this time.I've read that female embryos are less likely to survive hot temperatures than males, and that females are more likely to survive chilled eggs. Let us know if you hatch males from the remaining eggs.

But I'm old...I don't have that kinda time left!Well, the blue-black-splash ratios are improving.
It took me 5 hatches to get my first splash, then I got extra splashes in this year's first hatches -- bringing the ratio just about right.
So the sexes ought to even out eventually as well.
